Cynthia Dye traveled to her hometown of Urbana, Ohio where the first golf course built by the Dye Family, Urbana Country Club, is located. Cynthia was there to film an interview for a documentary being produced to tell the story of her latest design – Erbil Hills Golf Club located in Erbil, Iraq. She was joined at the club by Rudaw TV , the film production crew sent from Istanbul, Turkey. Also attending was the Urbana C.C. Historian, Julie Johnson. Erbil Hills will open late summer 2022.
Background
Urbana Country Club is celebrating its centennial anniversary this year. The golf course, designed and built by Cynthia’s grandfather P.F. ‘Pink’ Dye was opened for play in 1922. Urbana, Ohio is the hometown of the Dye Family. Cynthia’s experience in golf course design began at an early age as she helped out after school at the Dye Designs office. Her father Roy Dye, ASGCA was also a golf course architect and taught her the nuances of the family trade.
